Our excursion begins with a warm welcome from our tour guide, departing from Zagreb at 05:00, we embark on an enchanting drive through Croatia and Hungary.
As we approach Budapest, prepare yourself for the breathtaking beauty of cultural and historical sights all the way to the magnificent “QUEEN OF THE DANUBE”.
Upon arrival, we begin our guided tour, and our first stop is Buda, where you will have the opportunity to explore the Royal Palace, the Church of St. Matija and the iconic fisherman’s fortress. From here you will witness the most beautiful view of Budapest and its eight magnificent bridges, of which the Chain Bridge is the oldest and most stunning.
Moving to Pest, you will discover the neo-Gothic jewels that adorn Pest. Marvel at the size of the Parliament building, which boasts an impressive 700 windows, and visit the Basilica of St. Stephen. Do not miss the opportunity to visit Heroes’ Square, the largest square in Budapest, dedicated to 1000 years of Hungarian statehood, decorated with the Millennium Monument and the statue of Archangel Gabriel. Walk along the picturesque Andrassy Avenue, known as the most beautiful street in the city, and admire the charming city park Varosliget. We continue our journey to the highest point of Budapest, Gellért Hill, where the Freedom Monument rises high, visible from every corner of the city. Explore Buda Castle, the Citadel and be rewarded with a panoramic view of Budapest, Pest and the magnificent Danube River.
After an exciting day of exploring, you’ll have free time to immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere of the Vörösmarty Square Christmas Market. Indulge in a cup of mulled wine and enjoy the wonderful smell of Kürtőskalácsa, a traditional Hungarian cake with a unique shape and excellent texture. Don’t forget to visit the legendary Gerbeaud patisserie, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and immerse yourself in the enchanting pre-Christmas atmosphere.
As the evening approaches, we gather as a group and say goodbye to Budapest.
